7 Offbeat places for travelers to visit in Kasol in 2021

Kasol is a small hill station situated in the parvati valley in Himachal Pradesh. It is one of the the favourite destination of travelers  whenever they visit Himachal

The main reason behind the popularity of kasol is that this place is soothing. Many people come to kasol to relax their mind and soul and they don't return disappointed!

I myself found this place amazingly refreshing. The aura around this place is something different, something magical. The people are warm and welcoming. The food is amazing. The amazing  sights of snow-capped Himalayan peaks and gushing blue waters of the Parvati River are the sights to behold. The amazing experience this place has to offer is still underrated. I want more travelers to visit this place because trust me it is worth it. It is worth the time and money. The sight of the beautiful trees can give you goosebumps!

There are many places to visit in kasol and every single place offers something different. Here are 10 places to visit in Kasol. I will list them according to the timeline of my visit.

1: Manikaran Sahib

Manikaran Sahib is a gurdwara and is about 6 kms from kasol. This is a place of pilgrimage for sikhs and hindus but anybody from any religion can visit Manikaran Sahib.

This should be the first place to visit in kasol because of the hot springs which are located by the gurudwara. You can take a dip in the hot spring, it will refresh your body and all the travel fatigue will be gone in seconds. It is also believed that a lot of ailments can be cured by simply taking a dip in the hot water. The Gurudwara also offers langar and the food is totally amazing.

Apart from Gurudwara there are several temples also

Manikaran Sahib is situated at the height of 1,829 mt. and you can reach there by road. The road is good but there are a lot of curves so its important to drive carefully. Many people walk to Manikaran from Kasol and it is a good idea too because of the scenic locations the place has.Another site not to miss around Manikaran Sahib is Harinder Mountain which you should visit if you are in Manikaran.

2: Chalal

Chalal is located at a small trek which is 30 minutes away from kasol and is famously known as the mini israel of Himachal Pradesh because of its Israeli population. The vibe around Chalal is amazing. It has budget friendly cafes which offer both Israeli and indian food. It had budget friendly accommodations and the place is away from the crowd of kasol. So if you are a fan of isolation then head to chalal.Chalal is also known for its trance parties which are quite amazing.

The trek to chalal is also amazing. You will click pictures every other minute till you reach the village. To reach the village You will trek across the gushing waters of Parvati River via the suspension bridge, and then make your way through the gorgeous pine forests and voila you are at chalal

The nights at Chalal are safe and locals are very helpful. All these things makes Chalal a place you must visit.

3: Tosh

Tosh is located at an approx distance of 20 kms from kasol and is quite isolated. Not many tourists visit Tosh because of the road conditions but this place is worth visiting

There are cheap accommodatios available every where in Tosh. There are cafes which offer variety of food including pizza.

Most people visit Tosh to look for isolation and this place provides what they long for i.e. mental peace. Tosh is also famous for its hippie culture and is known as the last hippie village of parvati valley. Psychedelic and trance parties are also a norm in Tosh. So if you like such stuff you must visit Tosh.

4: KheerGanga

Kheerganga is another place in kasol which is my personal favourite. We can reach there by trekking for about 5 hours from Barshaini, but the trek is easy and view while trekking is breathtaking.

This is where the kheerganga trek starts from Bershaini and the on the way we get to see some amazing view.

There is also a hot water spring in KheerGanga where you can relax after trekking for five hours.

Heres another view of the top of KheerGanga!

There is an ancient Shiva temple which is perfect for bhole ke bhakt like Me.

KheerGanga is getting famous now because of the people who like adventure and visiting this place would be must for adventure savvy. The accomodation is easily available there in the range of Rs 400 to 600
And if you are a budget traveler, there is also an ashram where you can stay for Rs 150. Food over there is quite expensive but understandable because they have to carry all  that food to the top.

5: Malana

Malana is a village which is about 21 kms away from Kasol and to reach there is quite difficult.
You can book a cab for the first 18 kms and then you have to trek onwards. People who like having marijuana often visit Malana. Its Malana Cream is famous all over the world.

Marijuana plants

Malana Village is also a unique village because has its own governance system and claims to be the oldest democracies of the world. The village residents also maintain distance from the outsiders. Touching houses and clicking pictures without the consent of villagers is also not allowed. So yeah Malana cream is pretty much the only thing that attracts visitors and they don't get disappointed.

6: Rasol

Rasol is another place which is gaining popularity in kasol. Many people head to Rasol for peace and nirvana. Rasol is located at a distance of 4 kms from kasol you get to reach Rasol by trekking via Chalal. The trekking to Rasol is quite exhausting but worthit. You will also find some foodstalls installed in the way where you can rest and eat something.I find  Rasol better than Malana because of the facilities over there. There are accomodation facilities and locals are more welcoming unlike Malana. You can gaze at the view of the Parvati valley from the village and its amazing. Rasol is located at the height of about 3000 mtrs above sea level which makes it the most beautiful village of Kasol.

One thing I found interesting about the trek was that a local dog followed us from Chalal and accompanied us till we came back and they say that anybody who treks to Rasol has a dog to keep him company. The dog knew the trek and we can say that he helped us alot.

7: Pulga village

Another breathtaking village in the lap of parvati valley. Pulga is located at an average height of 9498 feet above sea level. This small village in Parvati Valley has an amazing view with lofty mountains and dense forests. Pulga is also known for its tea plantations. The village is about 22 kms from kasol and 3 kms from Barshaini. Pulga unlike other villages in kasol is more developed. It has developed commercially due to tourism. Tourism is also the main business of the locals over there so there are some well maintained guest houses with wifi. Pulga is a must visit for those who like offbeat destinations. I went there for just a day and stayed there for two days. You will also see a lot of foreigners walking around the village, they seem to have discovered every single place around kasol (typical). Anyways If you are visiting kasol then make an effort to visit pulga also You will thank me.
Here are some pictures of pulga

Do visit the above mentioned places in kasol if you like some offbeat destinations. These places will surely give you the experience of a lifetime!
